Olympic gold medalists to announce Minnesota Vikings draft pick on Day 3

The Minnesota Vikings will have Olympic gold medal winners from Team USA on hand to announce a draft selection on Saturday, April 28, 2018 during Day 3.

There are many great things about the NFL Draft. Not only is it an event to find out who the next big stars could be for teams like the Minnesota Vikings, but it is a massive experience with bright lights, lots of cameras, and a ton of drama.

Recently, it was revealed that former Vikings defensive tackle Keith Millard would be announcing Minnesota’s second-round draft pick during the second day of the draft on Friday, April 27, 2018, but the special guests don’t stop there.

According to Yahoo! Sports, the U.S. men’s curling team will be announcing a pick LIVE on Saturday, April 28th from the St. Paul Curling Club. Of course, this group composed of John Shuster, Tyler George, Matt Hamilton, John Landsteiner and Joe Polo. won the gold medal at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics in 2018.

Fans in the Minnesota area should also take note that 4 of the 5 team members will be signing autographs at FanHQ in Ridgedale, Minnesota that same day from 3-4 pm. Those interested should check out the details on their official website.

While that is an amazing honor to have these Olympic gold medallists, some of the other third day pick announcers get a little…interesting. Here are some other notable Day 3 guests:

  • Buffalo Bills: Thurman Thomas and local flag football players
  • Miami Dolphins: Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s football team plus a Parkland shooting memorial
  • Oakland Raiders: youth football players from Las Vegas (teasing the team’s future move)
  • San Francisco 49ers: Chewbacca, stormtroopers, and R2D2 (because…why not?)
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers: a parrot (seriously)

Other team’s Day 3 hosts have not yet been announced on Yahoo, but hopefully, they will all be as interesting as a parrot or some Star Wars characters to keep the later rounds of the draft even more interesting.
