Minnesota Vikings add even more rookies following the 2018 Draft
By Adam Patrick
After the conclusion of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings added even more players to their 2018 roster by signing a number of undrafted free-agents.
In recent history, the Minnesota Vikings have experienced a good amount of success with some of the undrafted free-agents they have signed.
A number of the Vikings’ current players did not hear their name called on draft day including Nick Easton, Kai Forbath, C.J. Ham, Anthony Harris, Rashod Hill, Mike Remmers, Andrew Sendejo, and Marcus Sherels.
Oh yeah, and some dude named Adam Thielen. You might have heard his name a few times here and there.
Last year, Minnesota signed a total of 13 undrafted free-agents. Of those signed in 2017, defensive end Tashawn Bower, defensive tackle Dylan Bradley, offensive tackle Aviante Collins, tight end Josiah Price, cornerback Horace Richardson, and linebacker Eric Wilson are still on the team’s current roster.
According to multiple reports, here are the undrafted free-agents the Vikings have signed so far this year.
- Jeff Badet – WR (Oklahoma)
- Mike Boone – RB (Cincinnati)
- Curtis Cothran – DL (Penn State)
- Garret Dooley – LB (Wisconsin)
- Armanti Foreman – WR (Texas)
- Christopher Gonzalez – C (San Jose State)
- Holton Hill – CB (Texas)
- Tyler Hoppes – TE (Nebraska)
- Hercules Mata’afa – DL (Washington State)
- Trevon Mathis – DB (Toledo)
- Tray Matthews – S (Auburn)
- Kamryn Pettway – RB (Auburn)
- Peter Pujals – QB (Holy Cross)
- Korey Robertson – WR (Southern Miss)
- Roc Thomas – RB (Jacksonville State)
- Jake Wieneke – WR (South Dakota State)
- Jonathan Wynn – DE (Vanderbilt)
Will any of these players end up on Minnesota’s roster for next season?
Based on last year, there’s a good chance that at least a third of their 2018 undrafted free-agents will still be around once the regular season begins in September (likely as members of the practice squad).
