Mike Zimmer coach leads SKOL Chant at Kenny Chesney concert
By Adam Carlson
He is all business as the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, but Mike Zimmer sure knows how to have fun at a Kenny Chesney concert at U.S. Bank Stadium.
U.S Bank Stadium is best known for hosting Minnesota Vikings games as well as being the site of Super Bowl LII. However, there are also many concerts and other events held at the facility for fans to enjoy.
On May 5, 2018, country music superstar Kenny Chesney was performing at the billion-dollar facility in Minneapolis and one special fan joined the musician on stage after the encore of “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” to share a moment with the massive crowd on hand according to the Star Tribune.
That individual is none other than Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer, who not only seemed to enjoy the concert but got to put a Minnesota Vikings spin on things by urging the crowd to start the SKOL Chant.
Check out these great videos shared on Twitter of Mike Zimmer making the gesture in front of the ocean of fans in Minnesota:
Kenny Chesney also seemed to join in the fun, making the SKOL Chant gestures along with the coach and fans in attendance. Those who have followed the career of the multiple-time CMA Entertainer of the Year know that he has no problem playing it up for the local sports teams when on tour, but looked to genuinely enjoy having Zimmer share the stage with him.
Known for his hard-nosed approach to coaching and straight-forward style, it’s great to see Mike Zimmer enjoying a concert on his night off and getting to have some fun on stage in front of so many fans.
