CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson recently ranked his top offensive trios in the NFL for 2018 and the group from the Minnesota Vikings finished high on the list.

Ever since Mike Zimmer was hired to be the team’ head coach in 2014, the Minnesota Vikings have been all about defense. The defense should be expected to be among the NFL’s best again in 2018, but it may be a season where the Vikings’ offense also emerges as one of the league’s top units.

If Minnesota is actually going to have an elite offense in 2018, it will likely be due to the combined performances of quarterback Kirk Cousins, running back Dalvin Cook, and wide receivers Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs.

CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson recently published a piece where he ranked the top QB-RB-WR trios in NFL heading into next season. Minnesota’s group of Cousins, Cook, and Thielen ended up at number five on the list.

Only offensive trios from the Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints, and Pittsburgh Steelers were ranked higher than the Vikings’ combination.

It’s not hard to see why Minnesota’s group ended up so high on the list.

Cousins is coming off of three straight years of throwing for at least 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns, Cook had the third-most rushing yards in the NFL last season before tearing his ACL, and Thielen just became the first Vikings player since 2009 to finish a year with at least 1,000 receiving yards.

Next: Who will be the Vikings' most improved player in 2018?

If these three can continue to play like they did last year (and stay healthy), then the sky really is the limit for Minnesota’s offense in 2018. For once during Zimmer’s tenure, the Vikings could be feared by their opponents on both sides of the ball.
