Signing Kendall Wright

With the top two spots on the Vikings’ wide receiver depth chart set with Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, Wright has a very good chance to emerge as the team’s third receiver this summer.

A first-round selection by the Tennessee Titans in the 2012 NFL Draft, Wright is coming off a 2017 season that saw him lead the Chicago Bears in catches and receiving yards. While the Bears’ passing attack was very underwhelming last season, being an NFL team’s receiving leader is still an impressive accomplishment.

Given that he was still able to be semi-productive in Chicago’s offense last year despite their glaring deficiencies, Wright has the potential to be a significant contributor for Minnesota in 2018. Plus his contract is only worth $1 million, so taking the risk on the receiver was a no brainer for the Vikings.
