Players from the 2018 Minnesota Vikings took to the practice field on Tuesday at the new TCO Performance Center for the team’s first OTA of the year.

It is still only May and regular season football is still more than three months away, but members of the 2018 Minnesota Vikings are already hitting the practice field to prepare for the team’s upcoming quest for a championship.

On Tuesday, the Vikings’ players and coaches participated in the team’s first OTA of 2018 at the team’s new practice facility, the TCO Performance Center.

Most of Minnesota’s players have been training on their own this offseason, so this week’s OTAs are an opportunity for them to come together and make sure everyone is still on the same page.

Among those participating in Tuesday’s OTA was Vikings running back Dalvin Cook. After tearing his ACL last October, Cook is, “ahead of schedule,” according to a recent interview with Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer.

The Vikings running back was one of many players featured in the highlight video posted by the team’s official website following the first OTA of 2018.

For those wondering, the guy that made the crazy catch at around the 0:45 mark is undrafted rookie Chad Beebe (son of former NFL receiver Don Beebe).

Tuesday’s OTA was also an opportunity for Minnesota’s players on offense to show how much of new offensive coordinator John DeFilippo’s playbook they have learned this offseason. Vikings backup quarterback Kyle Sloter confirmed that it was really the first time this year the team was able to run the offense in a live, on-field environment.

Minnesota center Pat Elflein did not participate in Tuesday’s OTA, as he is still recovering from the broken ankle he suffered in the 2017 NFC Championship. Elflein is not expected to participate in either of the Vikings’ two remaining OTAs this week.
