The 30 greatest Minnesota Vikings players of all-time

All-time Greatest Minnesota Vikings: No. 15 – Jared Allen
Not since John Randle was causing havoc during the 1990s has there been as dominant a pass rusher for the Vikings as Jared Allen.
After Minnesota acquired the defensive end in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008, the Vikings’ pass rush got an immediate boost.
During the three previous seasons before Allen’s arrival, the Vikings’ defense averaged just 34 sacks per year. With their new defensive end in 2008, Minnesota finished the season with 45 sacks.
The Vikings’ defense actually ended a year with 40 or more sacks during five of Allen’s six seasons with the team.
Since 2000, no player has more sacks in a Minnesota uniform than Allen (85.5). His 22 sacks in 2011 are still the most ever in a single season by a Vikings defender.
In six years with Minnesota, Allen was voted to four Pro Bowls, and he earned three First-Team All-Pro selections.
