The Minnesota Vikings linebacker was among the 10 players who just missed making this year’s NFL Top 100 list.

For the first time ever this year, more than three Minnesota Vikings players were a part of the NFL Network’s annual NFL Top 100 list. Seven of the Vikings’ guys made the 2018 list, tying them with the Los Angeles Rams for the most players from one team.

The seven members of Minnesota’s roster that made this year’s NFL Top 100 list includes Everson Griffen (19th), Adam Thielen (36th), Harrison Smith (46th), Xavier Rhodes (55th), Stefon Diggs (65th), Linval Joseph (83rd), and Kirk Cousins (94th).

If the list was extended to 110 players, another member of the Vikings would have apparently made the cut too.

On Monday, the 10 players who just missed making this year’s NFL Top 100 list were revealed and Minnesota linebacker Anthony Barr was among those included. Barr ended up as the 107th-ranked player on the 2018 list.

In just four seasons, the young Vikings linebacker has already been voted to three Pro Bowls and in 2015 he earned a First-Team All-Pro selection from Pro Football Focus. Last year, Barr’s 75 total tackles were the fourth-most of any Minnesota defender.

The linebacker’s play during the past few seasons has been an important part of the Vikings’ defense transforming into one of the NFL’s best units. Barr may become even more of a weapon in 2018 if Minnesota decides to increase his involvement in their pass-rushing attack.

With one year remaining on his current contract, the linebacker is also someone that might receive an extension from the Vikings before the start of the 2018 season.

With three of his four years in the NFL resulting in a trip to the Pro Bowl, Barr is definitely a player Minnesota must make sure to keep on their roster past 2018.
