Cornerbacks (6)

Yes, it’s time to buy into the hype! Although Holton Hill likely won’t see the field on defense, the team has been very excited about bringing him in and the local media have been praising him quite a bit. For now, he could be the wild card in this grouping.

Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes will return as the starting outside cornerbacks. With Rhodes having a great season in coverage and Waynes being one of the best cornerbacks against the run, this is a very solid duo.

Veteran Terence Newman will return for one more year in hopes of getting a Super Bowl ring, but will likely be limited in his snaps this year. His role will likely shift to being more of a mentor to the young players while still being solid when his number is called.

The big question is whether or not Mike Hughes or Mackensie Alexander will be the team’s nickel corner. The team would benefit greatly from having Alexander move back outside to play to his strengths if Hughes can catch on quickly.
