Offense on Day 5:
Hill takes some time off
After battling for the past two days with what Mike Zimmer revealed to be an upset stomach, Vikings offensive tackle Rashod Hill sat out Monday’s practice. He’s competing to be Minnesota’s starting right tackle for Week 1, but Hill knows he still has plenty of time to win the job.
Following Monday’s session, the Vikings offensive lineman told local reporters that his recent sickness could be the result of food poisoning. Hill also said that he expects to be back practicing with the Vikings on Tuesday.
Offensive line shuffle continues
With Hill and center Pat Elflein (ankle/shoulder) both out of action, Minnesota was able to get a closer look at some of their offensive line depth on Monday.
Guard Tom Compton was back working with the Vikings’ first-team blockers and it appears that he and Danny Isidora will be taking turns with the role every other day until Elflein returns to practice.
In place of Hlll on Monday was rookie offensive tackle Brian O’Neill. The rookie has been getting some valuable playing time recently as Hill deals with his stomach illness.
Treadwell stands out
Minnesota wide receiver Laquon Treadwell has not been shy about his level of excitement when it comes to working with new Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins this year. On Monday, the two showcased their connection that has been gradually building this offseason.

It is just practice, but Treadwell could possibly be in for a breakout season if he is able to stay healthy and his connection with Cousins continues to grow.
