Vikings Preseason 2018: 5 things to watch vs. the Denver Broncos
By Chris Schad
Will the Holton Hill/Mike Hughes hype train continue to roll?
One of the steadiest drumbeats in Vikings camp this year has been the play of first-round pick Mike Hughes and undrafted free-agent Holton Hill. Before Minnesota can declare itself the next Legion of Boom, both rookies will need to show up in an actual game before the hype train can officially reach full speed.
Hughes will be the intriguing name to watch as the Vikings bypassed offensive line help to select him with the 30th pick in last April’s draft. He displayed a knack for making the big play at UCF last season and some believe that he has a chance to take over Mackensie Alexander’s slot corner role with a good training camp.
Hill has been the other prospect that has been turning heads in camp and has been grabbing the attention of his teammates such as Xavier Rhodes and Stefon Diggs. Snatching a roster spot will be a tall order with the current depth ofMinnesota’s secondary, so Hill will need to put his top skills on display come Saturday night.
