Cordarrelle Patterson – WR (New England Patriots)

After a disappointing 2017 season with the Oakland Raiders, Patterson is now trying to find a role in the Patriots’ offense. The former Vikings receiver has reportedly been impressive during New England’s training camp this year and he and the team are hoping that it will lead to good things during the regular season.

In the Patriots’ preseason game against the Washington Redskins last Thursday, Patterson was on the field for a good amount of time (35 plays). The 27-year-old receiver finished the night with two catches for 38 yards (including an impressive one-handed reception).

Interestingly enough, Patterson did not appear on special teams at all for New England last Thursday. Maybe the Patriots are making an effort to get him to focus more on being a receiver and less of a kick returner?

With Julian Edelman suspended for the first four games of the 2018 season, it’s very possible that Patterson could open up the year as the second receiver on the Patriots’ depth chart.
