Jarius Wright – WR (Carolina Panthers)

After his release in March, Wright signed with a Panthers team where many other former Vikings players have seemed to also land over the years. The wide receiver is one of five former Minnesota players to have a spot on Carolina’s current roster.

Wright was only on the field for five of the Panthers’ offensive plays during their preseason game against the Buffalo Bills last Thursday. But despite his lack of playing time, the former Vikings receiver still managed to catch one pass and finish the night with 28 receiving yards.

Along with Curtis Samuel and rookie DJ Moore, Wright is part of a current Carolina wide receiver group that features a few players on the smaller side of the spectrum. But with Christian McCaffery in their backfield too, a small-ball passing game could be what the Panthers have in mind for their offense this year.

Wright does has an advantage over some of the other Carolina receivers though since the team’s offense is now being run by former Minnesota offensive coordinator Norv Turner.
