Jalen Ramsey is a fan of the way Kirk Cousins plays
By Adam Patrick
The Minnesota Vikings quarterback recently got some praise from the Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback in an interview with GQ Magazine.
This Saturday, the Minnesota Vikings will be taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars inside of U.S. Bank Stadium. It’s only a preseason matchup, but don’t expect either team to hold their intensity back.
Both of the Vikings and Jaguars’ rosters are full of some of the NFL’s best players, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Minnesota and Jacksonville sent a combined 11 defenders to the Pro Bowl last season.
One of the Jaguars’ standout players on defense is cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Despite only being in the league for just two years, Ramsey has already earned a First-Team All-Pro selection and established himself as one of the best corners in the NFL today.
The Jacksonville corner is also someone who has never been afraid to speak his mind, no matter whose feelings get hurt.
Minnesota Vikings
In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Ramsey gave his opinions on a number of current NFL quarterbacks, including new Vikings signal caller Kirk Cousins. Unlike some of the other quarterbacks he discussed, the Jaguars cornerback was actually positive with his comments about Cousins.
"“I think (Cousins is) good. I think he’s a winner. He’s a hell of a competitor. Coming off the play action, he’s the best quarterback in the league. Play action passing, he’s a hell of a quarterback.”"
Unfortunately for Ramsey, he won’t have a chance to pick off any of Cousins’ passes this week when Minnesota and Jacksonville hold joint practices on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Jaguars corner is currently in the middle of a week-long suspension handed to him by the team after he criticized reporters on Twitter. Seems a little harsh for some tweets, but not surprising at the same time when people remember that Jacksonville’s current executive vice president of football operations is Tom Coughlin.
Due to his suspension, Ramsey will not be on the field for the Jaguars’ preseason matchup against the Vikings on Saturday either.
Since the two teams don’t play during the 2018 regular season, the only time Minnesota and Jacksonville would be able to play in a meaningful game this year would be in Super Bowl LIII. Something neither team would mind if it actually ended up happening.
