The Bad vs Jacksonville
Latavius Murray butterfingers. Two fumbles in the first quarter isn’t a good start for a running back hoping to make a case for a lot more playing time in the team’s backfield. While this is no cause for immediate concern, it is interesting to see the fumbles happening after his statement.
No Fowler or Ramsay. Teams should always want to play against the absolute best competition out there. With Jacksonville missing two of their young, talented defenders, it doesn’t quite feel the same when facing off against the Jaguars.
Collapsing on the screens. The Jaguars found a lot of success on dumping the ball off to the running back with blockers in front. Yeldon and Fournette both picked up some good yardage on those plays, and even Bortles had a nice gain on a scramble. With so many athletic players on the Vikings defense, it’s strange they aren’t able to collapse better.
Josh Andrews and Cedrick Lang going down. It didn’t look serious for either guy, but any time an offensive lineman is injured it is scary, even if that player doesn’t have a great chance of making the team’s 53-man roster. The depth on the interior of the line is scary enough without losing more bodies from the mix.
Executing on offense. It would be great to see more touchdowns and the attempted field goals go in, but not everything works out that way. Major credit has to go to the Jaguars defense for keeping Minnesota from putting many points on the board in a game where points were at a premium.
