The Interesting vs Jacksonville
- Joe Berger sounding the Gjallarhorn. It’s good to see former Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Joe Berger on hand to sound the horn, but how many times do you think he was asked if he’s ready to suit up for the team after the OL injuries?
- That Ade Aruna situation looks bad. It’s never good to see a player laying on the turf. However, the gut feeling is that Aruna might have to miss some time based on what happened in the first half. Hopefully, the sixth-round draft pick is healthier than we think.
- Second team vs the first team. It’s strange the Jaguars wanted to keep Blake Bortles and the first team from Jacksonville in the game for the entire first half when the Vikings subbed out their starters near the end of the first quarter. Still, fans should be excited to see the backups being effective against a starting NFL offense.
- An awful lot of flags. I’m a big fan of consistency. Whether a game is being called loose or strict, it needs to be that way all the way throughout. That said, this staff of referees really plays by the book, throwing a TON of flags to break up the game. And I still don’t understand the flag for the Williams sack…
- Pop-Up Video. Daniel Carlson attempting a pop-up kickoff to a spot on the field with no Jaguars was bold and interesting but also proved the kicker could do it. Plus, with Kai missing, the gap between the two seems to be widening.
