Mackensie Alexander and other Minnesota Vikings players were banged up in Week 2 of the preseason against the Jaguars. Here is an update on their condition.

There are many goals for teams during the NFL preseason, but one of the main ones at the top of the list is to keep everyone healthy for the regular season. That was not the case in the preseason game against Jacksonville on Saturday as six Minnesota Vikings players suffered injuries with three taken off on carts.

One of the most impactful injuries could have come when slot cornerback Mackensie Alexander limped off with an ankle injury and did not return in the second quarter. According to KSTP-TV’s Darren Wolfson on Twitter, the Vikings received good news on Monday morning when an MRI revealed no serious damage.

While Alexander was able to escape a major injury, there were others who weren’t so lucky. The Vikings announced roster moves on Monday morning as well with sixth-round pick Ade Aruna being placed on injured reserve.

The sixth-round pick out of Tulane showed some great traits coming out of the draft that drew comparisons to Nick Perry as well as likening him to Jadeveon Clowney and Bradley Chubb, but didn’t make a big impact during the preseason. His knee injury will undoubtedly set the 24-year old back in his development.

In addition to putting Aruna on IR, the Vikings also waived three players with an injury settlement. Offensive tackle Cedric Lang was carted off the field with an air cast on Saturday afternoon while fullback Johnny Stanton suffered a lower leg injury late in the game.

Rounding out the moves was tight end Josiah Price who suffered a torn ACL last week. The Vikings will hope to remain healthy moving forward beginning with Friday’s regular season dress rehearsal against the Seattle Seahawks.
