David Parry – DT
Signed by the Vikings in May, Parry’s status with team really has more to do with the play of his teammates on the defensive line.
Parry had a solid training camp this year and he has appeared in both of Minnesota’s preseason games, but it is his lack of versatility that could be what hurts his chances at a roster spot the most.
The Vikings have a number of reserve defensive linemen like Brian Robison, Jaleel Johnson, Ifeadi Odenigbo, and Jalyn Holmes that are capable of playing multiple positions. This is a trait that Minnesota seems to look for in their backups on the defensive line.
Unfortunately for Parry, he has been a nose tackle during his entire NFL career and nothing else. Unless the Vikings suffer a few injuries on their defensive line over the next couple of weeks, Parry likely won’t be part of the team’s regular season roster for 2018.
