Stefon Diggs not included on ESPN’s top 100 NFL players list

The Minnesota Vikings had seven players appear on the list, however, Stefon Diggs was not among those from the Twin Cities who was included.
It’s a play that will be forever remembered throughout the existence of the Minnesota Vikings. Pandemonium, jubilation, and tears of joy are just some of the ways to describe the feelings of Vikings fans after Minnesota wide receiver Stefon Diggs caught the game-winning touchdown last January in the team’s playoff matchup with the New Orleans Saints.
But that play does not define Diggs’ career. The receiver has arguably been the Vikings’ best offensive weapon since he arrived in 2015.
In the last three seasons, no Minnesota receiver has more catches, yards, or touchdowns than Diggs. And for his contribution to the team, the Vikings rewarded their young pass catcher with a five-year contract extension this offseason worth $72 million.

Despite his impressive production during his first three years in the NFL, Diggs still has plenty of doubters. The latest being those at ESPN who decided which players around the league to include on this year’s list of the NFL’s top 100 players.
Featured on the list are seven current members of Minnesota’s roster including Harrison Smith, Everson Griffen, Adam Thielen, Xavier Rhodes, Danielle Hunter, Dalvin Cook, and Kirk Cousins. But no Diggs.
ESPN explained that the rankings on this list are determined by a group of “NFL experts” that predict how successful a player will be in the upcoming 2018 season by using a scale from zero to 100. This year’s list included 14 wide receivers not named Stefon Diggs.
Some of the receivers selected over the Vikings pass catcher were Jarvis Landry, Keenan Allen, Tyreek Hill, and Davante Adams. Apparently ESPN’s so-called experts believe these four wide receivers are going to perform better in 2018 than Diggs.
Not really sure why though considering Minnesota upgraded at quarterback this offseason with Kirk Cousins. Normally, a move like this results in better numbers for a team’s offensive performers.
But the Vikings’ addition of Cousins clearly didn’t have an impact on ESPN’s feelings about Diggs in 2018. Which is fine because now the talented Minnesota receiver just has another doubter to prove wrong this season.
