4 bubble players that deserve a spot on the Vikings’ 2018 roster
By Adam Patrick
Chad Beebe – WR
Relatively unknown by most of the Vikings’ fan base before the start of the preseason, Beebe has definitely made his mark during the team’s three exhibition games this year.
The undrafted rookie receiver’s game-winning touchdown catch against the Seattle Seahawks last week was just one of many plays he has made this preseason. His score against the Seahawks was also the second time Beebe has caught a pass in the end zone during Minnesota’s three exhibition matchups this year.
So far this preseason, the young receiver has caught nine passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Beebe has also returned three punts for a total of 46 yards, including a 34-yard return against Seattle last week.
He’s not the fastest guy on the field, but the rookie receiver has consistently displayed his ability to create separation from defenders during the preseason this year. His skills as a punt returner should also increase his appeal to the Vikings keeping him on their final roster.
If Minnesota truly believes that Beebe has a role on this team for the regular season, then they need to include him among their final 53 selections on Saturday. Because it won’t be very long before another team picks him up if the Vikings try and stash him away on their practice squad.
