Ifeadi Odenigbo – DL
The preseason is really a time for the unknown to rise into the spotlight. This is exactly what happened for Odenigbo during the Vikings’ Week 2 preseason matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Since he joined Minnesota’s roster last year, he has been lining up manly as a defensive tackle. But against the Jaguars, the Vikings were dealing with some injuries and were forced to use Odenigbo as a defensive end.
All he did was respond with seven tackles (two for a loss), three quarterback hurries, and two sacks in 36 snaps on defense. It was quite the afternoon for the 24-year-old defensive lineman.
Odenigbo has been solid in his other preseason appearances for Minnesota this year, but that game against Jacksonville is where he was able to showcase his versatility.
With his skill to play on the inside and the outside of the defensive line, keeping Odenigbo on the final roster this year could free up another spot in an area of need for the Vikings.
