The good stuff vs Titans

  1. That pass rush. Even without their entire starting defensive line, the Vikings were able to get a lot of pressure on the quarterbacks through the entire game. This is a testament to the depth of Minnesota’s defensive linemen that they can consistently win battles at the line.
  2. Eric Wilson is seriously amazing. Cliett made some good plays and there are others on the team who are fighting for spots, but Eric Wilson proved himself to be the next man up this preseason and during previous efforts with the team. The young man should be very valuable in the team’s depth and rotation.
  3. A third running back was likely decided. Mike Boone did enough in this game to prove that he should be the team’s third running back while rushing and catching passes. Having Roc Thomas nipping at his heels was great for competition and helped to push him to be very good during the preseason.
  4. A young receiver looks great. Brandon Zylstra is a fringe player this preseason who has flashed multiple times and should be considered for a spot on the 53-man roster. Even with a struggling Siemian at the helm, he caught some passes and moved the sticks, which is exactly what he needed to do.
  5. Kyle Sloter continues to impress. A perfect throw to the aforementioned Zylstra was the first touchdown of the game and got the fans excited after a game that lacked a lot of scoring excitement. Fans should be very happy with Kyle Sloter development and performance this preseason.
  6. A perfect day. Daniel Carlson connected on both his field goal attempts as well as his lone extra point to give him some confidence heading into the regular season and let fans breathe a little easier. Plus, both 3-pointers went right down the middle, which was excellent.
