Released: Peter Pujals

There were really no surprises when it came to the quarterbacks kept by the Minnesota Vikings, especially since the team went out of their way to acquire each of the passers to be part of the team.

Minnesota backed up the armored truck full of cash for Kirk Cousins, giving him a massive, fully guaranteed contract that ensured he would be the team’s signal caller for the next three years and possibly longer.

For Siemian, it was a trade that brought the former Broncos starting quarterback in to back up Cousins after he passed for 5,686 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 24 interceptions during his three years in Denver.

Add in Sloter, who had an excellent preseason and was a priority player for the Vikings to add to their roster after he was waived by Denver following being an undrafted free agent and you have a talented group of quarterbacks who should be more than capable of being the next man up.

Meanwhile, Pujals was never a realistic option to make the team. His hopes rested with the practice squad, but a lack of action during the preseason except for the closing moments of the final game showed the writing was on the wall.
