Wide receivers (5)

Released: Jeff Badet, Chad Beebe, Cayleb Jones, Tavarres King, Korey Robertson, Jake Wieneke, Kendall Wright

While keeping 5 running backs was a bit of a surprise, it was also a bit shocking which of the five wide receivers the Minnesota Vikings decided to keep on the team and who didn’t quite make the cut this season.

Underdogs like Chad Beebe and Jake Wieneke were fan favorites to make the team, but it’s likely Minnesota is hoping to slide one (if not both) of those pass catchers onto their practice squad this year.

The biggest disappointment on the list is Wright, who was brought in to be a reliable veteran target and possibly be the team’s third or fourth player on the depth chart. Instead, he failed to impress and instead was released.

On a positive note. Brandon Zylstra showed enough to earn a role on the team and has the fans behind him. The Spicer, Minnesota native joins the dynamic duo of Thielen and Diggs as well as the developing Treadwell and the returning Coley.
