Linebackers (5)

Suspended: Kentrell Brothers

Released: Reshard Cliett, Garret Dooley, Mike Needham, Brett Taylor, Antwione Williams

The starting three of Barr, Kendricks, and Gedeon should return following their success from last year. Plus, with the massive contract signed by Kendricks, hope is that one will follow soon for Barr to keep this group intact.

Wilson has continued to shine on special teams and as a linebacker. His continued development should give a lot of hope that he can be a capable player to be plugged in at just about any linebacker spot.

Past that, Minnesota must have high hopes for seventh-round draft pick Downs and seriously believe that Brothers can add depth as well as solid special teams play when he returns from his suspension.

Still, this isn’t a grouping fans should be too confident with. While the starters are solid and Wilson has shown flashes, the lack of experienced depth could be an issue. For this reason, it’s a little surprising not to see Williams of Cliett make the team.
