Top 4 preseason performers for the Minnesota Vikings in 2018
By Adam Patrick
Who were the most impressive players for the Minnesota Vikings out on the field during their four preseason games this year.
Each of the last few preseasons for the Minnesota Vikings have been quite unique and this most recent string of exhibition games was no different.
During the 2016 preseason, the Vikings were able to witness the impressive growth of quarterback Teddy Bridgewater before he suffered his unfortunate knee injury a few days before the start of the regular season. Last year, much of the focus during the preseason was on Minnesota rookie running back Dalvin Cook and how the team would adjust to not having Adrian Peterson in the backfield.
In 2018, the Vikings’ four exhibition games were about the offense adjusting to a new coordinator in John DeFilippo and a new quarterback in Kirk Cousins, how Sheldon Richardson and Mike Hughes would fit into the defense, and whether or not Minnesota made a mistake by using a draft pick on a kicker this year.
What were the Vikings able to learn during this most recent preseason? At the very least, Minnesota should be quite happy with how the majority of their second-team units played this year.
The impressive performances of some of their younger players this summer is what likely led to the Vikings making a few surprising roster decisions over the last few days.
So of all the guys that took the field for Minnesota during this year’s preseason, which four made the most of their extra opportunities and shined the brightest?
