The Minnesota Vikings were able to hang on and come out of U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday with a win over the San Francisco 49ers.

It was maybe a little too close at the end, but the Minnesota Vikings were able to defeat the San Francisco on Sunday to begin the 2018 season with a win.

The Vikings are now 3-0 all-time in home openers since U.S. Bank Stadium opened in 2016 and 4-1 in Week 1 matchups with Mike Zimmer as their head coach.

Sunday’s game featured a number of memorable moments including the regular season debuts of Kirk Cousins and Sheldon Richardson in Minnesota uniforms, the return of Dalvin Cook, and the Vikings’ top defense handing 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo the first loss of his NFL career.

Despite the win, the Vikings still have plenty to work on before any thoughts of making it to this year’s Super Bowl actually start to become realistic. It will be interesting to see what adjustments Zimmer and Minnesota make as they prepare for their Week 2 matchup with the Green Bay Packers next Sunday at Lambeau Field.

But before everyone shifts their focus to that game, let’s stick to Week 1 and look back at the top five moments from the Vikings’ season-opening win over San Francisco.
