How has Kirk Cousins performed against the Packers in the past?
By Adam Patrick
The Minnesota Vikings quarterback will be facing off against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday for the third time in his NFL career.
One week into the regular season, the Minnesota Vikings should be pretty happy with the way quarterback Kirk Cousins has performed in their uniform.
During the Vikings’ Week 1 win over the San Francisco 49ers, Cousins completed 20 of 36 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns. He made a few mistakes during the game, but they didn’t end up being anything monumental that cost Minnesota the win.

For his second contest in a Vikings uniform, Cousins will be going against the rival Green Bay Packers on Sunday inside Lambeau Field. The Minnesota quarterback has never faced the Packers on the road in his career, but he played against Green Bay twice since 2016.
In Cousins two career matchups against the Packers, the quarterback has completed 65.8 percent of his passes, accounted for a total of five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing), averaged 352 passing yards per game, and thrown zero interceptions.
Those numbers sure do seem pretty impressive.
The first time Cousins faced Green Bay was during the wild card round of the 2015 playoffs as a member of the Washington Redskins.
The quarterback did end up throwing for 329 yards and scoring two touchdowns (one passing, one rushing), but constant pressure from the Packers’ defense (six sacks on the day) just proved to be too difficult for the Redskins to overcome and Green Bay got the win.
Still with Washington, Cousins got another opportunity to beat the Packers in Week 11 of the 2016 season. This time, the results were much better for the Redskins and their quarterback.
Thanks to Cousins throwing for 375 yards and three touchdowns against Green Bay, Washington was able to come out of this matchup with a win.
Now with the Vikings, the veteran quarterback will be looking to make it two victories in a row over the Packers on Sunday. Something that would definitely bring a big smile to the faces of Minnesota’s fans.
