1. Harrison Smith (no change)
It can be debated that Smith had some struggles in coverage during the Week 1 contest between the Minnesota Vikings and the San Francisco 49ers, but it is difficult to argue all the things he did in the game to make sure the boys in purple got a win.
Smith led the team in tackles, racking up a total of eight with seven of those being unassisted. In addition, two of those were for a loss and one of them was sack. Plus, he recovered a fumble caused by Linval Joseph and had the game-sealing interception.
With Smith being effective at the line of scrimmage as well as in coverage, it’s impossible to move him out of the top spot on the player rankings for the week. He truly is one of the best safeties in the league, if not the absolute best.
