Four Bold Predictions: Vikings vs. Packers – Week 2
By Adam Patrick
Aaron Rodgers will throw for zero touchdowns
Rodgers looked amazing last week and played out of his mind against the Chicago Bears, in the fourth quarter. Dealing with a sprained knee, the Packers quarterback threw three touchdowns in the game’s final quarter to lead his team to a miraculous 24-23 win over the Bears.
But that was last week and on Sunday, Rodgers has to face a defense that is much more talented than what he dealt with against Chicago.
For starters, the Green Bay quarterback is certainly not going be able to rely on his mobility like he normally does due to his knee injury. Expect Minnesota’s defense to pressure Rodgers all day long and force him into situations that result in turnovers.
The Vikings’ are also expected to have their secondary fully intact on Sunday as corners Mackensie Alexander and Trae Waynes have been full participants in practice this week. Combine those two with All-Pro defensive backs Harrison Smith and Xavier Rhodes and Rodgers is going to have a difficult time finding open receivers on Sunday.
The Packers quarterback didn’t throw for any touchdowns against Minnesota last season and he’s not going this week either.
