Four Bold Predictions: Vikings vs. Packers – Week 2
By Adam Patrick
Vikings hold the Packers to under 20 points
Going into the fourth quarter of their game last week, the Packers had just three points. The blame can’t really be put on Aaron Rodgers missing time with his knee injury either, as the quarterback was under center for five of Green Bay’s first eight drives of the night.
This week, the Packers will be going up against a Vikings’ defense that allowed the fewest points in the NFL last season. If Green Bay only has three points after three quarters on Sunday, Minnesota’s defense likely won’t be giving up three touchdowns to the Packers in the final quarter like the Bears did last week.
Preventing their opponent from scoring more than 20 points is basically the recipe to a win for the Vikings. Minnesota has come out with a victory in 14 of the last 15 games in which they were able to hold the opposing team to under 20 points.
Defense is what has led the Vikings to becoming one of the top teams in the league for the last few years and it is what will lead Minnesota to win over Green Bay on Sunday.
