The Interesting Things

  1. Carlson at tight end? The announcers circled a tight end on the screen and said it was Carlson blocking. Now, it’s been a while, but Minnesota did have a tight end named John Carlson…but that hasn’t been a thing for years. That, and it was extra fun since my last name is Carlson.
  2. That Diggs Geico commercial. It’s nice to see some Vikings players getting national love in commercials. Stefon Diggs is able to cash in on some big exposure following the Minneapolis Miracle and show off in a commercial that accents his reliable hands and sense of humor. Good stuff.
  3. You gotta start somewhere. Laquon Treadwell finally got his first career NFL touchdown in this game, and it was solid! A nice route created separation and even though the pass was a touch behind him, he was able to reach back and haul it in. Hopefully, this is a sign of good things to come!
  4. Yes, Graham catches passes. The number of times the announcers talked about how Jimmy Graham is a pass catcher and not a tight end that is known for blocking is pretty common knowledge among NFL fans. He does his damage with a football, not clearing a path for others.
  5. Make the leap! After Stefon Diggs scored a touchdown on a 3-yard pass from Kirk Cousins, he attempted a Lambeau Leap. However, he was quickly ejected from the stands by fans. Still, you can’t blame the Vikings receiver for giving it a whirl and having a little fun after his catch.
