Top 5 moments from the Vikings’ Week 2 tie with the Packers

1. Vikings tie the game in the fourth quarter
After the Packers came up with an interception with less than two and a half minutes left in the game on Sunday, it seemed like the Vikings were destined for their first loss of the 2018 season.
But a big stop by Minnesota’s defense resulted in Green Bay adding just three more points to their total and the Vikings’ offense had one last shot to tie the game up.
Minnesota Vikings
A drive like the one Kirk Cousins was about to lead is exactly why the Vikings gave him $84 million guaranteed in March.
The game almost ended on the first play of the drive though after Cousins had a pass intercepted by Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander. However, Green Bay linebacker Clay Matthews was flagged for roughing the passer (they can thank their own quarterback for that call) and Minnesota got the ball right back.
This time, Cousins kept calm and led the Vikings on an impressive drive down the field that was full of smart decisions and good clock management.
Eventually, the Minnesota quarterback was able to find Adam Thielen for an amazing 22-yard touchdown catch (see moment No. 2). But Cousins and the Vikings still needed two more points to tie the game.
Lined up for the two-point conversion attempt, Cousins took the snap and threw a fade to the left corner of the end zone toward Minnesota receiver Stefon Diggs. The ball landed in Diggs’ hands and the Vikings tied up the game.
Unfortunately, the Vikings didn’t leave Green Bay with a win on Sunday. But the impressive performance that their offense put out on the field this week should only make their fans excited about what’s to come in the near future.
