Defense paves the way to a Bears win

Chicago Bears – 24

Seattle Seahawks – 17

A week after letting a win slip out of their grasp to the Green Bay Packers, the Bears made sure to not disappoint their fans during their home opener on Monday night against the Seahawks.

Chicago was pretty much in control for the majority of the game and were up 17-3 over Seattle early in the fourth quarter thanks to a Mitch Trubisky touchdown pass to rookie wide receiver Anthony Miller.

The Seahawks made an attempt at a comeback on Monday night and even closed the gap to be within seven points after wide receiver Tyler Lockett caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Russell Wilson.

However, the Seahawks’ chance at a comeback immediately vanished after Wilson threw a pick six to Bears cornerback Prince Amukamara.

Amukamara’s touchdown put Chicago up 24-10 with under seven minutes left in the game and eventually led to the Bears getting the win.

Chicago’s pick six was just one of the many impressive moments from their defense on Monday night. The Bears held the Seahawks to just 276 total yards, finished with a total of six sacks, and forced Seattle to commit two turnovers.

The victory on Monday night was the first for new Chicago head coach Matt Nagy, who appears to have his team headed in the right direction.
