Minnesota’s defense comes up with four interceptions

So far this season, the Vikings’ defense has looked pretty sharp. While the scoreboard did say that the Packers scored 29 points last week, Green Bay’s offense was only able to get into the end zone once against the Vikings’ defenders.

After facing Aaron Rodgers last Sunday, Minnesota should get a break this week against the Bills and rookie quarterback Josh Allen.

Allen is a raw, unpolished rookie who likely wouldn’t be playing on Sunday if Buffalo had any other options behind him besides Nathan Peterman. But the Bills don’t and the rookie will be going a Vikings defense that has been putting a ton of pressure on opposing quarterbacks this season.

Against rookie signal-callers under head coach Mike Zimmer, Minnesota’s defense has played very well. In five matchups against the Vikings since 2014, rookie quarterbacks have completed just 55.3 percent of their passes, averaged 152 passing yards per game, and thrown for a total of three touchdowns and three interceptions

That interception total is only going to get higher when Minnesota faces Buffalo this week. Allen will realize just how far he has to go before he becomes a legit NFL quarterback after tossing four picks to the Vikings on Sunday, including one that will be returned for a touchdown.
