2. Cousins fumbles the game away
After the Bills came out and scored a touchdown on their first offensive drive of the game, the Vikings’ offense was given their first opportunity to put points up on the scoreboard.
But as Minnesota would learn throughout the day, nothing was going to carry out as planned against Buffalo this week.
Facing a 3rd and 7 on their own 10-yard line, Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins took the snap and attempted to get away from the Bills’ pass rushers. Just as it seemed like Cousins had escaped his collapsing pocket, the Minnesota quarterback coughed up the football as he was hit from behind by Buffalo defensive end Trent Murphy.
The Bills recovered the fumble and quickly added three more points to their total.

Now down by 10, Cousins and the Vikings offense took the field for their second drive of the game. Spoiler alert, it didn’t go much better.
Facing a 3rd and 8 on their own 27-yard line, the Minnesota quarterback dropped back to pass and was quickly hit from behind by Buffalo defensive end Jerry Hughes. The football popped out of Cousins hands onto the turf and the Bills recovered yet another fumble by the Vikings signal-caller.
Following the turnover by Minnesota, Buffalo’s offense needed just two plays to score their second touchdown of the day and increase their lead to 17 points.
The Vikings’ chances of a comeback were pretty much underground after Cousins’ second-straight fumble on Sunday.
