The Minnesota Vikings running back missed the team’s Week 3 matchup against the Buffalo Bills with a hamstring injury.
In Week 3, the Minnesota Vikings suffered a surprising loss to the winless Buffalo Bills. Absolutely nothing seemed to go right for the Vikings last Sunday.
But the Minnesota rushing attack did nothing to help their chances against the Bills either. Without Dalvin Cook out on the field, the Vikings ran the ball just six times for an embarrassing total of 14 yards.
Cook did not suit up for Minnesota in their matchup with Buffalo due to a hamstring injury he suffered against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2. His presence on the field was clearly missed.

Due to being down by so much early in the game to the Bills, the Vikings still would have likely called less run plays even if Cook was in the lineup. But the young running back could have still provided the Minnesota offense with another weapon in their passing attack if he were on the field.
The Vikings only have a few days to get ready before their next game on Thursday against the undefeated Los Angeles Rams. Despite their short time to prepare, Minnesota could be getting their top running back out on the field this week.
Cook spoke to the local media on Monday and said that his hamstring currently, “feels great,” and that, “there’s a good chance,” he will play on Thursday against the Rams.
This is great news for the Vikings, who need all the help they can get after their poor rushing performance against the Bills in Week 3.
With Cook back out on the field this week, Minnesota should be able to more productive on the ground and through the air. In two games this year, the young Vikings running back has 26 carries for 78 yards and nine catches for 107 yards.
