The interesting stuff vs Rams

  1. Vikings fans travel well. Even though the game was in Los Angeles, there was a huge number of fans wearing purple and gold in the stands. A SKOL Chant rang through the place before the game and the fans of the visiting team could be heard often through the broadcast. Bravo, fans!
  2. Was Thielen touched? The question of whether or not a whistle was blown in the second quarter will remain as play was stopped following a catch where a Rams defender was close, but may not have actually contacted him down. Maybe it should have been a touchdown…but we’ll never know since it was blown dead.
  3. High blood pressure. When Dan Bailey kicked the first field goal attempt and it hit off the upright, I was about to lose my cool. But then it bounced inside and was good for 3 points. All is forgiven and blood pressure goes back down…for now.
  4. Pulled for a medical review. Adam Thielen was not happy when the officials took him out of a play after taking a knee to the face. Even though he was furious, it was the right move to ensure he wasn’t playing with a concussion or other injury. It may have been a bad time since it was a third down, but better safe than sorry.
  5. Not a block in the back. Picking up the flag in the third quarter on a textbook block in the back after the referee already committed to the penalty was ridiculous. That was one of those plays the NFL could use as an example of what a block in the back is to teach people what NOT to do.
