Minnesota Vikings player rankings: Week 5 edition
By Adam Carlson
1. Harrison Smith (no change)
So, the defense of the Vikings looked really bad against the Rams. Let’s be honest though, Los Angeles will be doing that against every single team they go up against. However, one individual who didn’t get exposed was Smith.
While Smith wasn’t one of the individuals who ended up getting posterized by the Rams, he also failed to make any real kind of impact during the game, registering only one tackle and not breaking up any passes.
One more disappointing performance from Smith and he will be in danger of falling out of the top spot in the player rankings.
Just outside the top 10
- Dalvin Cook – Right now, he’s on the list based on potential alone. However, without help from his offensive line and the team playing from behind, the opportunities might not be great.
- Andrew Sendejo – He always plays his heart out every game, putting his body on the line to make big plays and deliver huge hits…even if he is getting blocked in the back at times.
- Eric Kendricks – The closest to getting back in the top 10, Kendricks had a solid performance against the Rams but the unit as a whole struggled enough to keep him just outside.
Next week, the Minnesota Vikings stay on the road and visit the Philadelphia Eagles. With the loss in the NFC Championship game fresh in their minds, the purple and gold will likely be doing everything they can get a big win against a Super Bowl contender.
