4 players the Minnesota Vikings should consider trading

Mackensie Alexander – CB

Like Laquon Treadwell, the Vikings have continued to give Alexander opportunities and put him in a position to succeed. But the 24-year-old nickel corner still has not been able to develop into the player Minnesota thought they were getting when they took him in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Alexander has only been targeted 10 times in coverage this season, but he has allowed a catch each time and opposing receivers are averaging 11.6 yards per catch against the young Vikings corner. Alexander’s four missed tackles are also the most of any Minnesota defender this year.

His mental mistakes are also making an impact on the performance of the Vikings’ secondary this season. There have already been numerous times this year where Alexander has covered the wrong receiver or let an opposing offensive player get by him because he mistakenly thought he had help in coverage.
The upside of the 2016 second-round pick is basically non-existent at this point. Minnesota is better off sending Alexander to another team and letting some of their other young corners with actual potential remaining get more time on the field.
