4 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles – Week 5
By Adam Patrick
The Vikings get their revenge
Last season’s loss to the Eagles in the NFC Championship was one of the most disappointing and embarrassing moments in the history of the Vikings. The fact that Minnesota was just one win away from playing in a Super Bowl on their home field made the loss in Philadelphia that much worse.
A win on Sunday for the Vikings won’t heal any of those wounds created from losing to Eagles last season. But a victory this week for Minnesota should at least be able to stop the bleeding.
Given that the matchup is still so early in the season, this Sunday’s game against Philadelphia is all about pride for the Vikings.
Minnesota’s players will say over and over again to reporters this week that last year’s loss means nothing and it isn’t on their mind. But we all know it actually is on their minds and that they are going to do their best on Sunday to make everyone forget about last season’s loss in the NFC Championship.
A statement will be made to the Eagles and the rest of the NFL by Minnesota this week when they leave the stadium on Sunday with an easy 38-7 win over Philadelphia.
