Some key players for the Minnesota Vikings will be unable to suit up against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5. Here is the full injury report for Sunday.
The Minnesota Vikings have been banged up in the secondary and on the offensive line through much of the season and that trend will continue in Week 5 when the team takes on a familiar foe on the road.
That familiar foe is the Philadelphia Eagles, the team that knocked the Vikings out of the playoffs in the Conference Championship by humiliating them in a game that was only competitive for the first few minutes.
Sadly, Minnesota won’t be at full strength for this matchup. Here are the players who have been ruled out or are in danger of missing the game on Sunday according to the official website of the Vikings:
Minnesota Vikings
Out
- Tashawn Bower, DE – ankle
- Everson Griffen, DE – knee/non-injury
- Marcus Sherels, CB – ribs
- Trae Waynes, CB – concussion
Doubtful
- – none –
Questionable
- Dalvin Cook, RB – hamstring
With Trae Waynes unable to return after his concussion in Week 4 and Marcus Sherels unavailable for depth, the Vikings will lean heavily on youngsters Mackensie Alexander, Mike Hughes, and Holton Hill to help Xavier Rhodes against the Eagles passing game.
Also, the absence of Everson Griffen and Tashawn Bower will give Stephen Weatherly another huge opportunity to prove himself…and so far he has been impressive when given a starting role.
Philadelphia Eagles
Out
- Derek Barnett, DE – shoulder
- Darren Sproles, RB – hamstring
Doubtful
- – none –
Questionable
- Corey Clement, RB – quadricep
- Haloti Ngata, DT – calf
The Eagles are so deep at defensive end that Barnett being out only allows for players like Michael Bennett or Chris Long to get onto the field, meaning it shouldn’t hurt too much. Losing Sproles is like losing a Swiss army knife, but Philly does have plenty of weapons to get by without him.
Which player missing in Week 5 for the Minnesota Vikings will make the biggest impact for the Vikings and will Dalvin Cook be able to suit up for the Vikings and put together a good game against the Philadelphia Eagles? Let us know what you think in the comments!
