The bad things vs Eagles

  1. Not again. Dan Bailey once again had a first kick of the game that bounced off the upright. This time, it didn’t get the lucky bounce that it did previously did and ended up no good. Thankfully, he bounced back with a make…but then missed again. The life of Vikings kickers…
  2. Can’t cash in. The Vikings looked good on their early drives, getting in the red zone and knocking on the door of the Eagles. But those opportunities resulted in only one made field goal Cousins was finally able to hit Thielen with a floater in the second quarter…and it’s hard to win games that way.
  3. What’s up with Remmers? Minnesota made a free agency splash to pick up Mike Remmers to play right tackle, but now they refuse to play him there despite injuries. Is this a lack of faith in Remmers or an endorsement for Brian O’Neill and Rashod Hill? It’s hard to know…
  4. Sneaky little guy. The Vikings are known for getting pressure on quarterbacks, but their pursuit sometimes leaves them open to quick passes, like those to running back Smallwood. Good thing the linebackers on this team are quick and usually solid tacklers.
  5. Gadget plays. Any time you pass the ball backward, it’s dangerous. When Cousins tried a wide receiver screen where the pass was behind the quarterback, the result was a fumble that was recovered by the Eagles and put Philly in position to take a lead.
