Overall impression vs Eagles

This is what Minnesota Vikings fans wanted to see from the team in Week 5. Compared to other weeks, the offense was much more balanced against the Eagles, with 16 carries coming from the running backs for 51 yards, averaging over 3 yards per attempt against the top run defense in the league.

Still, even though the team did run a bit, it was Kirk Cousins and the passing game where the offense shined. Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs were once again the stars of the show, combining for 17 catches and 207 yards on the day.

Defensively, the team was inconsistent but still had a solid overall performance despite being without Trae Waynes and Everson Griffen. Mike Hughes looked good when called upon and the duo of Stephen Weatherly and Danielle Hunter was great at getting to Wentz.

Special teams remained a bit of a question, with two field goals being missed and one punt coming up quite short. In addition, Adam Thielen nearly muffed the onside recovery but was able to get back on the ball to secure the win.

As a whole, this is a game that fans should feel great about. Being 2-2-1 heading into Week 6 isn’t a bad situation to be in, especially if the team can take advantage of their upcoming games against the Cardinals and Jets.
