Minnesota Vikings player rankings: Week 6 edition
By Adam Carlson
1. Adam Thielen (Up 1 spot)
There is absolutely no way of talking about Adam Thielen this season without being hugely impressed with everything he’s done to this point during the 2018 NFL season. He has over 100 yards in his first 5 games of the season this year and is on track for 1,885 and 10 touchdowns on 150 catches.
Thielen is clearly the most trusted pass catcher on the Vikings team and is getting a massive amount of the targets each game because of that. His excellent hands and crisp route running make him an easy target for Kirk Cousins, who can feel confident that Thielen will give maximum effort on every play.
In Week 5 vs the Eagles, Thielen was impressive as always. He was thrown the ball ten times and hauled in seven of them for 116 yards and the team’s only offensive touchdown against Philadelphia. No complaints at all there!
Just outside the top 10
- Dalvin Cook – When he’s able to return to action, Cook should help a struggling Vikings offense run the football. However, it’s hard to put him in the top ten when he’s not on the field.
- Andrew Sendejo – Sendejo had another solid game, registering five tackles with all of them being solo. However, his physical nature can be both a huge positive and negative with penalties sometimes hurting the team.
- Eric Kendricks – Always having a nose for the football, Kendricks is excellent when tracking down ball carriers and taking them down. He tied for the most tackles against the Eagles in Week 5, even helping on a stop behind the line of scrimmage.
- Everson Griffen – When his situation is figured out and he can return to the football field, he will likely explode back into the top ten. But, for now, he will sit outside the player rankings for the time being.
Next week, the Minnesota Vikings finally return home to take on the Arizona Cardinals. The team should be excited to be back to .500 on the season, but the thought of having a winning record after Week 6 should bring some great performances to discuss next week!
