Rashod Hill, offensive tackle

The past few seasons, Rashod Hill has been called upon to be on the offensive line in case of emergency. When his number was called, he performed quite well and even made a good case to be the team’s starter.

In 2018, he finally got that nod to be the team’s right tackle. However, the promotion hasn’t been kind to the big man as he is registering the lowest Pro Football Focus grade of his career through 5 games, sitting at a disappointing 51.1.

More concerning is that his effectiveness has dropped in both run blocking and pass blocking each year that he has been in the league, meaning there may not be a change on the horizon to prove Hill can get the job done on a regular basis.

To make matters even worse, Hill is getting outplayed by backup Brian O’Neill. The rookie is rated 11.9 better when it comes to run blocking and 15.4 better at pass blocking. While O’Neill is still trying to bulk up to be the Vikings right tackle of the future, it could be argued that he should be the right tackle of right now.
