4 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Arizona Cardinals – Week 6
By Adam Patrick
Vikings defense will bring the pressure
Not having veteran defensive end Everson Griffen on the field has certainly hurt the Vikings’ pass rush over the last few weeks. But last Sunday against the Eagles, getting to the opposing quarterback became a thing again for Minnesota’s defense.
Minnesota Vikings
In Philadelphia last week, the Vikings’ defense generated a total of 21 pressures. The only other time Minnesota pressured the opposing signal-caller more this season was back in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers.
Facing the Cardinals on Sunday, the Vikings’ pass rush will wreak havoc once again. Arizona has been one of the worst pass blocking teams in the NFL this season and their job isn’t about to get any easier against Mike Zimmer’s defense.
For the second-straight week, Minnesota will finish with at least 20 quarterback pressures, which will include them sacking Cardinals rookie signal-caller Josh Rosen at least four times.
Obviously, the Vikings would love to have Griffen back on the field with them. But the performance by the Minnesota defense on Sunday should make the veteran defensive end smile big as he watches the game from his home.
