3 players the Vikings should consider trading for this season

Bryce Callahan – CB

Adding another defensive back really didn’t become a thought until last Sunday when Vikings rookie cornerback Mike Hughes suffered a season-ending torn ACL.
But with Hughes lost for the year, Minnesota now finds themselves with only four healthy corners on their active roster. Technically Marcus Sherels is the Vikings’ fifth corner, but everyone knows he’s only on the team to be a returner.
Minnesota Vikings
So if for some reason Trae Waynes or Xavier Rhodes has to some miss time this year due to an injury, Minnesota’s talent level in the defensive backfield is going to take a hit. The Vikings adding a guy like Callahan before the trade deadline could give them more depth at corner and also provide them a solution for another potential problem.
If Minnesota were somehow able to acquire the 26-year-old from the Bears, he would provide the Vikings with a much better option at nickel corner than what they currently have with Mackensie Alexander.
On 20 targets this season, Callahan has an interception, he hasn’t given up a touchdown, and his coverage is averaging just 7.5 yards per catch. While Alexander has not allowed a touchdown either this year, his coverage is averaging 12.1 yards per reception and he has a total of four missed tackles.
Considering Callahan is in the middle of a one-year deal worth just under $2 million, looking into acquiring the young slot corner would definitely be worth Minnesota’s time.
