Minnesota Vikings are slight favorites over the New York Jets this week

Oddsmakers have the Minnesota Vikings favored to come out of the Big Apple with a win in their Week 7 matchup against the New York Jets on Sunday.
Currently riding a two-game winning streak, the Minnesota Vikings will be heading east this week for a showdown with the 3-3 New York Jets.
Like the Vikings, the Jets have also come out with a victory in each of their last two matchups. New York defeated the Denver Broncos 34-16 in Week 5 and they are coming off a 42-34 win over the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday.
This week’s game between Minnesota and the Jets will be taking place on New York’s home field inside MetLife Stadium. A place where the Jets are 2-1 this season with their only loss coming to the 4-2 Miami Dolphins in Week 2.
Despite the fact that this Sunday’s game will be played in New York and both teams currently have the same win total, the Vikings are actually favored to come out with a win.
As of Wednesday, oddsmakers have Minnesota favored by three points over the Jets this week. This is the second time this season that the Vikings have been the favorites on the road as they were previously favored by 1.5 points over the Green Bay Packers in Week 2.
In 2017, Minnesota was 5-1 during road games in which oddsmakers picked them as the favorite. Overall, the Vikings are 2-1-1 this season in matchups that had them favored.
If Minnesota is actually able to come away with a win this week, it will be their first road victory ever against the Jets. These two teams have faced off in New York five times since 1970 and the Jets have won every matchup.
Will it be a different story for the Vikings in the Big Apple on Sunday?
