The Minnesota Vikings won’t be at full strength on Sunday, Oct. 21 when they hit the road to take on the New York Jets in Week 7 of the 2018 NFL season.
The Minnesota Vikings are preparing to head to New Jersey to take on the Jets in what should be a fun Week 7 matchup against two teams looking to separate themselves from the pack and rise to the top of their conferences.
However, the two teams will be without some key pieces on Sunday, Oct. 21 as the injury report has been released and some big names are included among those who will not be suiting up or are in danger of not playing.
Here is the injury report according to the official website of the Vikings:
Minnesota Vikings
Out
- Dalvin Cook, RB – hamstring
- Everson Griffen, DE – not injury related
- Riley Reiff, OT – foot
- Andrew Sendejo, S – groin
Doubtful
- – none –
Questionable
- Linval Joseph, DT – ankle/knee/shoulder
It looks as though Latavius Murray, Danielle Hunter, and Rashod Hill will be in line to start once again with George Iloka or Anthony Harris likely to get the start at safety during this Week 7 contest. Sadly, these are getting to be some familiar faces to the injury report and hope is that they can return to the field at full health soon.
Having Linval on the list isn’t a good sign either, especially considering all the ailments listed. However, it would still be a little surprising to see him good to go. This could explain why the Vikings signed David Parry instead of a cornerback when Mike Hughes was placed on IR.
New York Jets
Out
- Quincy Enunwa, WR – ankle
- Marcus Maye, S – thumb
- Buster Skrine, CB – concussion
Doubtful
- Trumaine Johnson, CB – quadriceps
- Kevin Pierre-Louis, LB – foot
- Terrelle Pryor, WR – groin
Questionable
- Isaiah Crowell, RB – foot
Enuwa, Maye, and Skrine can all be playmakers, so not having them on the field should benefit Minnesota. Adding Johnson to the doubtful list is interesting because he plays like a top corner at times…and with him and Skrine unlikely to go, the Jets secondary looks more beatable.
Otherwise, Pryor doubtful and Crowell’s situation being up in the air will be something to watch closer to game time.
